The Braid Hills

The Braid Hills are associated, not only in Edinburgh but all over Scotland, with the national game of golf.

The Braids may be reckoned as one of the finest health assets of the city. Amongst the extensive public works undertaken was the improvement of the country road, which connected the two main thoroughfares to the south, and which ran along the valley between the Braids and the Blackford Hill.

This road has been widened and improved, and, at points, diverted, so that those proceeding by the public buses, by private cars, or on foot, have one of the finest views to be had of Edinburgh along practically its entire course.
