"Waited for 30 minutes on crutches to be seated!"A review of Fabio's Restaurant by B. Billion - Wednesday 19th of March 2008Advertisements
I had been many times to Fabio's in the past and enjoyed the food and service there. However, I was very disappointed yesterday when I went there with friends, telling them how nice the restaurant was. We booked, as it's better to do so when the restaurant is always very busy, and the person who booked told the restaurant staff that one of our party (me) was on crutches with a dislocated knee. When we arrived at the time of our reservation, our table wasn't ready. it does happen that you have to wait for a few minutes, so we waited near the door. After close to 30 minutes of wait (we had been assured they had a table for us and they were just waiting for the previous party to leave) and other parties of people being seated, we still didn't have a table in spite of having booked. During those 30 minutes, we weren't even asked if we wanted drinks or if we wanted to prepare our orders while waiting. I don't mind waiting for a few minutes to be seated, but I find outrageous that a disabled person on crutches would have to be made waiting for that long. In the end, the people who were with me decided they were fed up with waiting and we left. I'm sorry to say that Fabio's used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. Now, I'm afraid I will take my business elsewhere, like the great Vittoria Italian restaurant on top of Leith Walk. Thumbs down, Fabio's. |
