We booked the full package of flights mini-van and villa from flyglobespan, we flew from Glasgow to Sanford, premium economy. I have to admit that i was a bit aprehensive about globespan because of some of the reviews i had read online, i have travelled to florida for several years now and used United airlines (Best), American Airlines,Continental and Thomas Cook(the worst). The Flight The flight left on time and was a 767 staffed mostly by a Scottish crew, the seats were a fake leather type and were confortable with a good amount of leg room (though i am quite small 5ft 5), the meal i selected pasta was the best i have had on any flight.Thr inflight entertainment system didn't work with the controls on my seat but i didn't want to watch the films so i wasn't bothered. We arrived on time and because it was sanford we cleared immigration and collected the van within 45 mins of landing. The Van The van was a little bit dirty in the inside (not enough to argue about though) but that was Dollar's fault. THe Villa The villa we were allocated (you don't get a choice) was situated in a gated compound in Lake Berkely just off the 192 and behind a Walmart. The villa had a private swimming pool and four bedrooms. Two bedromms had queen size beds and ensuite bathrooms and the others two single beds each , there were 3 bathrooms in total. It was fully equipped with a washing machine and a dryer ,cooker dishwasher etc. There were two tv's (cable tv) and a dvd player. We had a problem with the wheelie bin it was broken and racoons raided it spreading trash over the place, we phoned the service company and they arranged for two new bins to be delivered and asked us if we needed the area tidied up (we already had done it typical Brits !!) We also had free local calls, a annoyomg thing that happedned several times were automated calls from firms trying to sell us better mortgages , perhaps they subsidise the free calls ? We had onsite fishing with 3 lakes , the largest of which had catfish,baby bass/perch,turtles and a 6 foot Alligator which nicked any large catfish you caught !! The company asked us to wash and dry the towels on departure (10 am check out) and strip the bedding, this was a little inconvenient but not a big deal though. I met a guy while fishing who owns a villa on the site (he as there to redecorate it) I have put his URL in this review so you can see the standard of acconadation (his villa is better than the one we got by about 1 star) http://www.southviewinflorida.co.uk/ Flight home Left on time and arrived early Rating of Flyglobespan Very impressed I will go back to them next year Costs £650 per person for two weeks (based on 5 adults). Tips for Kissimmee Good restaurants Shells (seafood) near the fox and hounds pub which shows English and Scottish football Black Angus (great steaks) remember to pickup discount coupons from Walmart Golden Coral - best of the buffets Shopping Lake beuna vista mall Florida Mall Theme park Discovery cove - excellent swim with a dolphin, you also get free access to Seaworld and Busch gardens. |
