"The traditional Spanish ready meal hmmmm!"

This is a popular and long established Edinburgh institution. At the weekends you have to book, and mid-week you won't have the place to yourself.

That Tapas Tree is commercially sucessful says more about its clients' taste buds rather than endorsing the cooking, which on the whole is poor and not authentic at all. The house red at £12.50 is drinkable, and probably the tastiest thing on the menu. Service has not improved since the last reviewers were left waiting. If you are out for a special night then move on, and try something new it will be worth the risk.

On the other hand if deep fried Mars bars is your bag, and you're looking to give the 'little lady' a taste of Spain without frightening her too much with 'foriegn muck', olive oil, and garlic - then you have found your spot.

Alternatively, a bottle from Odd Bins, two fish suppers, and a night in.
