A review of The Magnum by Anonymous , Edinb written on Saturday 29th of November 2008
Me and my girlfriend decide to go at Magnum for something to eat and a drink : miserable and embarassing experience , something never happened to me in 32 years .
We arrived at bar at 16,05 , no one bartender or anyone appered before 10 minutes to take our order and my girlfriend she had to stand and go to the bar to call someone . I ordered a sausages dish with mash and a lager , she decide to have only a dessert , a pear crumble and a small Magners . The sausage appered at table at 17,10 , the apparently charming foreign bar guy sayd the chef (?) was just in .Meanwile I finished my meal (average), after 10 minutes she got a COLD pear crumble . As far I know the crumble , with apple or pear or any other fruit combine its hot or quite warm . We do working in the catering industry in Edinburgh from years and we don `t like to complain when we are out , we know how this work goes , the pressure and the diffucults to please customers , but she can`t avoid this time . She complain to an bartender , an asian boy , and he just handled her £.2,50 from his pocket ! We paid in advance £.18,50 for a split sausage and mash , a Cold pear crumble , a small Magners and a lager . SHOCKING , I will never go back and I don`t suggest anyone this place . .
