"Happy Memories of the 'Old Kirk'"

I also was married in the 'Old Kirk' on 5th October 1968 by the minister Rev. Colin Anderson and in 1975 & 1978 our girls were blessed in the 'Old Kirk' by minister Rev. Tom Gordon. I remember well all the social events, Kirk concerts, Burns suppers etc.

I sang with Francis Boyd at services and these social evenings while my husband played his guitar. I too was Sunday school teacher. Played piano for 2-3 Sunday schools as best as I could as I was no great player. I served on the kirk board for some years too. I also had a memorable 2 weeks at the youth camps on Iona which was organised through the 'Old Kirk'. I have much to thank the 'Old Kirk' and its members for who worked so hard for the good of the community and to spread the gospel.

Happy days and many happy memories. My precious husband Derick died on 28th September 2019 after having celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary the year before.

We had a very happy marriage and much to be grateful for.
