I finally received a reply to my letter after 3 months - a standard reply with a derisory payment of £40. What the customer services people were unaware of was that I had issued a small claims summons in the meantime and received an out of court settlement - "without admitting liability" but they paid what I claimed and were very keen not to go to court. I would recommend the small claims procedure to everyone who received similar poor service to us - it is a simple process and only costs £44 which is refunded if you are successful. Go for it - it's the best way to get back at these people!.
