"Bannatynes: as seen by Deek"

I've been a member of Bannatynes at Newcraighall for about 14 months now so i reckon my views are as honest as i can be for the period covered.

First impressions count! As soon as you walk into the turnstyles at the reception there the staff on duty always give a very pleasant welcome.

The locker rooms are cleaned regularly and are therefore well maintained as well, if a locker door is broken for instance the next visit will usually see it fixed.

As the club has just totally renewed the gym equipment everything up there is in first class condition. The person monitoring the gym is always on hand to advise how the machines should be used, and if you want you can have a programme set up for you by a member of the fitness team free of charge.

Included ion your membership is all the classes that take place, from first thing in the morning right up until last thin.

The pool is always at a good temp' as well.

Now the negative.

I had to upgrade my membership by an extra £5 per month so that i didn't have to pay for towels each time i attended. This made it £10 per month more expensive than other clubs, even other bannatynes. As someone who goes between 6-8 times a week paying £1 each visit for a towel had the effect od adding about £30 odds a month to my membership.....very cheeky!

The other big downer for me is this time of year, all those folk who join in January then start griping by Feb that they don't seem to be losing weight or getting fit. What i say is it probably took you years of over eating and under excersising to get how you are so give it time....

Then there are those March/April people who decide the club isn't for them......READ THE SMALL PRINT! I get totally fed up having to listen to them getting on at the reception staff when they're told they can't just pack in their membership..
