"There are"A review of Netherlands Consulate by Remco Stoutjesdijk - Friday 13th of July 2007Advertisements
I was there for my passport application as well and we spoke English as one does here for day to day communication anyway. In fact switching back to Dutch would be more effort than just speaking English. However when the phone rang and the other party requested to speak Dutch, not only did the lady switch over to impeccable Dutch, it turns out (from her name) she actually IS Dutch. Her Scottish accent is just absolutely perfect. So I'm sure they'd have spoken Dutch on request. I'm fine either way. They were incredibly friendly and helpful with the tight new mugshot rules for passports and the application details. It's obvious they haven't been in the Netherlands for a while because they have adopted the Scottish friendly way of dealing with folk. I for one was impressed. |
